Income Tax Return Forms for Individual & HUF For AY 2021-22

1. ITR – 1 (SAHAJ) – Applicable for Individual– This form is applicable for a Resident (other than Not Ordinarily Resident) Individual having Total Income from any of the following sources upto Rs. 50 lakh.

Salary/Pension

One House Property

Other sources

Agricultural Income upto Rs.5000.

But, this ITR – 1 cannot be used by a person who:-

  1. Is a director in a Company.
  2. Has held any unlisted equity shares at anytime during the previous year.
  3. Has any asset (including financial interest in any entity) located outside India.
  4. Has any signing authority in any account located outside India.
  5. Has income from any source outside India.
  6. Is a person in whose case tax has been deducted u/s 194N?

2. ITR – 2 – Applicable for Individual& HUF – This form is applicable for Individual and HUF –

Not having Income under the head profit  or Gains from Business and Profession / Income from house property

Who is not eligible for filling ITR -1.

3. ITR – 3 – Applicable for Individual& HUF – This form is applicable for Individual and HUF –

Having Income under the head profit  or Gains from Business and Profession

Who is not eligible for filling ITR -1,2 & 4.

4. ITR – 4 (SUGAM) – Applicable for Individual, HUF and Firm (Other than LLP)– This form is applicable for an Individual or HUF, who is Resident other than Not Ordinarily Resident) or a Firm having Total Income upto Rs. 50 lakh and having Income from Business and Profession which is computed on presumptive basis and income from any of the following sources:-

Salary/Pension 

One House Property     

Other sources  

Agricultural Income upto Rs.5000.           

Income from Business/Profession computed on presumptive basis u/s 44AD/44ADA/44E.

But, this ITR – 4 cannot be used by a person who:-

Is a director in a Company .

Has held any unlisted equity shares at any time during the previous year.

Has any asset (including financial interest in any entity) located outside India.

Has any signing authority in any account located outside India.

Has income from any source outside India.
